The IceWind team in Reykjavik team had been experiencing earthquakes for several weeks leading up to the eruption of the Fagradalsfjall volcano on March 19,
located about 25 miles (40 kilometers) southwest of the city, near the Reykjanes Peninsula. It is the first eruption in that region in nearly 800 years.

National media outlet Morgunbladid has contracted one of our turbines to power their webcam for a live feed from the eruption site. We moved quickly to prepare a Freya turbine for set up in the remote site, and installed it to work in conjunction with solar panels, replacing a diesel generator with durable and clean energy. You can see the live feed here – We are excited to be a part of this historic event, and for the commitment to renewable energy in our home country. #MadeInIceland
